If you have to go, go out SWINGIN’! You may not have agreed with President Obama on every subject, but a few things are certain: He is the most intelligent, patient, thoughtful, gentlemanly president we’ll possibly ever see in our lifetimes. Tonight is the last dance before we obtain Twitler; the thinskinned, vengeful, selfish sociopath.

It has not escaped me that tonight’s choice of music was very popular during Hitler’s rule. Teens and adults alike gathered in verboten establishments and danced their arses off to escape the reality of their horrors. Music was their refuge. Music will always bring you back to what’s real and true and just.

Swing with us, work for tomorrow and never forget that love (and music) rule.

2016

I understand that year after year we are shocked when we hear of the death of celebrities. However, this year for me personally was particularly hard. As a child of the 80s, a good many of my musical heroes are gone and with the loss of over 570 musicians, composers and producers in 2016, this two hour program was incredibly hard to put together.
