A trolley advertisement for The Hard Rock Cafe in Boston was a very clear shout out to the Duran Duran song. “Hungry Like The Wolf” was used briefly in a Burger King television commercial until the band (and fans!) made it clear that a fast food joint was not the place to be “cute” with the beloved 80s song.

The origins of Latin American music can be traced back to the Spanish and Portuguese conquest of the Americas in the 16th century, when the European settlers brought their music from overseas. Latin American music is performed in Spanish, Portuguese, and to a lesser extent, French. (WIKI)

The Latin sound encompasses a huge range of sounds including bossa nova, merengue, rumba, raggaeton, salsa, jazz, and french.

Tonight we’ll also speak with newest WXOJ hopeful, Cat, about her new Latin music show!
